Antique Necklace Long Chain Sautoir 15ct Gold English Victorian Jewelry (6682)
Antique Victorian necklace – long chain sautoir. Made in England, late 19th century. Measurements: A little over 59 inches (151cm) long. Weight is 25.8 grams. Description : An extremely long, very solid gold chain that can be wound multiple times around the neck, arms or even as a belt around the waist. There are two alternating sections: long, rectangular, box-like links with openwork in an escutcheon design. These alternate with sections composed of smaller individual links – some simple loops and some knotted wirework for additional interest and variety. These chains are extremely versatile and can be worn many ways as well as with any outfit from jeans to elegant suits. The jump loop (clasp) is not original to the chain. Marks: No marks were found, but gold was acid tested to ensure metal purity. Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. As mentioned, jump loop is not original.
