Straight from a dreamlike forest glade! This fabulously ornate solid gold brooch was made in the mid-Victorian period. It has incredibly intricate and highly polished champleve enamel work surrounding the monogram CJB (or CSB) in illuminated lettering, the deep cobalt blue and orange colours are transparent so the underlying carved image shows through. Theres a glazed locket compartment to the back and its a great size at 1 ¾ x 1 ¼ inches. It comes with a wonderful, associated green velvet box from the same period. It dates from around 1880 and is in excellent, fully wearable condition throughout, with no loss or damage. The safety chain is an old addition and it weighs 20.1 grams unboxed. The final photo shows it with a US penny (1 cent) coin for scale, which measures 19 mm / ¾ of an inch diameter. What’s more, I offer layaway deals so there’s no need to let any of my listings slip through your fingers – just ask!
