You’re looking at my. Fabulous antique wide cuff bangle. It’s incredibly sought after being that it was assayed in Chester, which was only working for a short time comparatively. It’s sterling silver and is beautifully embossed with an unusual floral motif. I believe the flower / plant could be hedge bindweed, it looks similar to my eye also this plant would have been much more abundant for the. In Victorian times wildflowers were plentiful and not seen as weeds as they are unfortunately today. All antique jewellery has a story.. Most of which we will never know but it’s a lovely idea that the adornment on this bangle is hedge bindweed and was commissioned as it was the lady’s favourite flower. The bangle is fully hallmarked for sterling silver, Chester assay office and the date letter 1886. There’s a maker’s mark M & L. The hinge is in good condition as is the clasp. There’s some slight damage to the back of the bangle (please see photos) but it cannot be seen from the front and in no way detracts from this wonderful bangle. Some very minor dings to the back also, hardly worth mentioning. Size (HxWxD): 2.5 x 6.2 x 5.4 cm OR 1.0 X 2.4 X 2.1 inches. Weight: 33.09 grams. CHECK OUT MY OTHER ITEMS! I LOVE A GOOD HAGGLE!!
