Antique Victorian Metronome Best English Make withHinged Door & Bell / Very Rare
Beautiful late 1800’s metronome with bell. It keeps time very good – however the bell rings loud and clear but is jumping sometimes one beat on position 3 and 6. This great collectable item is taller than regular metronomes (10 1/2 inches/27 cm). It seems to be a special edition. I have never seen an other one like that. The case shows almost no wear. Pictures are part of the description. The item “Antique Victorian Metronome Best English Make withHinged Door & Bell / Very Rare” is in sale since Monday, December 9, 2019. 756mm (width) x 2042mm (height) x 37mm (depth). To convert millimetres (mm) to inches go to a well known internet search engine and type “mm to inches”. I also travel the country regularly so might be able to personally deliver. GENERAL RECLAIMED DOOR ADVICE. There are many available. They have not done mileage but may have 100 years on the clock. Some sellers whether trade (like me) or private are asking hundreds of pounds. If a listing gives only a fleeting reference to it being restored ask exactly which parts has been restored! Look very closely at the photos. If poor quality photos ask for better. Some stained glass panels look amazing when photographed in direct sunlight but the silhouette will hide the hide the condition of the lead and wood. While you should consider all parts of the door I suggest the traditionally made leaded light panel(s) is the most expensive aspect to restore/replace if there is a problem. Even if the glass is not damaged the lead structure might not be rigid after decades of slamming. Are all lead joins intact? Look for even small cracks within the lead joins and bowing of the whole panel. Another consideration is how exposed the lead has been to the elements. Look at its colour. If it is grey/white then it is oxidising. This can happen on both sides as condensation can oxidise the internal side. None of the above faults necessarily mean that the whole panel should be remade. If I think the panel should be remade I will say so at the start of my listing. If any of my doors contain rot I will state this on the listing. Rot can be in any area but in particular look at at the bottom where rain may collect if the door was not positioned under a porch roof or well maintained with paint. I aim to provide high quality photos. You might notice all my doors are photographed on a white background or on a cloudy day. I may not have the largest collection of doors but I take the time to properly present each door: quality rather than quantity. 9 average sized doors. 203 x 82 x 5cm, 32kg. The only additional cost you are responsible for is import duty. For an accurate price please send me a list of the doors you would like as size and weights vary. You might prefer to collect from your nearest sea port if so please advise which port. If you have a shipper in England please tell me their location so that I can price to deliver there. There are around 50-100 high definition super-sized pictures at the bottom of this page. This is a rare and substantial piece of furniture, it is massive, just under 8 feet tall, its as solid as you could possibly hope to find, luckily it can be dismantled into three pieces for ease of transport. Each side has 5 shelves so 10 in total, they are all removable or height adjustable which is a must for any library. The base drawers are wide and tall so again offer oodles of storage. All the doors slide nicely, they have the original glass which is hand pegged in place, the top of each door has been arched and has some lovely floral carvings, the shelves have the original Victorian leather fringe on the end which is dry and perished in places however it still exists which is rare hence why I have left it in place. We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be normal age-related patina marks all over. There are locks on the side of two of the sliding doors, I dont have keys but may be able to have keys made should the new owner wish, there is of course a cost involved. Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask. This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses SW19-3BE, we can have it delivered nationwide to include Scotland Wales and Ireland. Wimbledon-Furniture is a privately owned family ran business out of Wimbledon SW19, we have four large storage warehouses, if you have any questions my number is under the business sellers information, please feel free to call or text. Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade. COURIER (LARGE ITEMS ONLY THAT CANT BE POSTED). Whoever delivers will always require help on the larger items to unload, the price you will be quoted will always be based on this assumption, if this is not possible please let us know as it will affect the price to send a two man team. Antique Victorian Mahogany Double Door Carved Motif Bookcase
Antique Victorian Mahogany Double Door Bookcase. Crafted of solid mahogany with a nice grain throughout. Large double glass door front. Storage at its best. Turn of the Century. An eclectic piece at its best, which would look great in an estates library, filled with antiquarian books. This Victorian Bookcase has 2 large glass doors which leads to a tremendous amount of storage space. Each side sports 4 height adjustable shelves, with additional storage drawers below. Both glass doors has the original brass Victorian handles with built in escutcheons, as well as the matching period drawer pulls beneath. All are rich in age and are uncleaned/polished. The top of this piece displays a drastic carved motif, and the entire piece is on its original antique casters for easy transport around your estate. This bookcase was most likely refinished at some point in the pieces life, although if it was, it was not done recently. This piece does show expected wear which includes surface scratches, minor chips and blems. The glass does not have any cracks or chips. This is a very sturdy and heavy piece, ready to last another 100 years! 46 wide x 57 tall x 13 deep. 1900 – 1920’s. Free local pick-up at our Moscow, Pennsylvania location is available.
