Late 19th century Victorian cased lay down scent bottle tapered slim-teardrop in shape the opal turquoise-blue glass extensively carved displaying a flowering primrose with buds and trailing foliage, attributed to Thomas Webb. Fitted with a threaded silver mount and polished dome shaped cap. The original wooden presentation case is covered with grained leather with a push button catch, hinge opening revealing a lining of deep plum silk velvet to the base and lighter plum sheen silk to the lid gold embossed with HANCOCK & Co 204 Regent Street. W 3.8cm widest point tapering to 1cm. The cap is clean, gilding complete and not worn. The cameo work is very good Well carved, good depth giving noticeable 3D definition. In terms of its desirability, the size and shape is sought after, the turquoise blue is not quite as readily found compared to other colours that were manufactured. To find a cased one..
