Here is a stunning set of exhibition quality 8 English antique Victorian oak & burgundy red leather carved dining chairs, circa 1880, with newly upholstered seats, in excellent original condition. Provenance: England, United Kingdom. Quantity: Eight (6 side chairs + 2 armchairs). Upholstered leather padded back, arms & seats. Dark burgundy red colour. Turned & carved back supports. Baluster turned front legs. Original polish & patination. Ideal for use in a dining room or boardroom. The set comprises six side chairs and two carver armchairs. The chairs are designed with attractive carved backs, which incorporate a central floral carved pediment to the top, below which is a padded leather panel, supported on either side by turned column supports, boasting floral carvings to the top and bottom, as well as carved floral finials. The armchairs feature carved scroll end arms with padded leather armrests and resting on turned supports. The chairs are upholstered in top quality burgundy red leather, finished with brass studs and traditional webbing to the undersides of the seats. The chairs stand on fluted baluster turned front legs, with sabre legs to the rear. The set of chairs boasts the original polish; therefore, they have a fantastic depth of colour and patination. The chairs would be ideal for use in a dining room or boardroom. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can recover the seats in a fabric of your choice. The chairs feature a rich mid brown oak colour.
