We are offering this 19th Century, Antique English Victorian Papier Mâché & Mother of Pearl Tea Caddy with beautiful scalloped edges. The caddy has divided interior with original tin lining with original lids; lids have lacquered top with original carved mother of pearl knobs. The top and front has of the caddy has beautifully shaped mother of pearl (abalone) inlay in a floral motif with hand painted tendrils. There is hand painted gold around edges of bottom and surrounding raised inset on lid. Inset has image of doves pulling a cart filled with flowers and doves under original glass. The green felt lining on inside lid is fairly recent replacement (not by us), there is crazing, the lock / area is broken and a chip off rear leg. There is no key. There is some loss, wear to the hand painted gold gilding. Please see our photos as they are part of our description – photos are of actual item which is in our possession. This tea caddy is absolutely beautiful, we have priced it with regard to its condition which does not take away from its presence. This will be double boxed and packed with care. We maintain a non smoking and pet free household.

Our Stock # 18.8029. This is an antique Canterbury stand. An English, mahogany three sectioned magazine or newspaper rack, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1900. Exuberant craftsmanship, ideal for the living room or conservatory. Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order. Select stocks show fine grain interest and deep caramel hues. Quality wax polish finish applied throughout. Striking pierced fretwork with lyre shaped motif accentuate the rack. Rolled handles to each end unite the sections with turned baluster rails. Useful drawer to base adds further storage, dressed with decorative circular brass pulls. Raised upon squat, turned legs and riding smoothly upon brass castors to each corner. This is an attractive antique Canterbury stand, with great colour and expressive craftsmanship. Of useful size for several publications or sheet music if required. A beautiful high quality English antique solid sterling silver cream jug. It is hallmarked for Sheffield 1900 with the maker’s mark being that of Pearce & Sons. It has been superbly made being supported on a pedestal base. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. 5 inches (13cm) tall to the top of the handle by 4.25 inches (11cm) handle to lip by 2.5 inches (6.6cm) wide across the rim and weighs 128 grams. This is a wonderful 19th century English Victorian cast brass flower basket form door porter or doorstop, circa 1870. It stands approximately 12-7/8″ tall x 7-1/4″ at the widest point. The base measures 5-3/8 wide. The heavy doorstop is weighted in the lower backside, as shown, with the original screw holding it firmly in place. It is in absolutely beautiful estate condition with NO breaks, NO repairs and NO restorations. The highly detailed cast brass flower basket shows a beautiful authentic, age appropriate patina. We have simply dusted it for photos. It could certainly be polished to a brighter shine. The black marks are reflections from camera. This listing is for an English, c1840’s Sheffield Plate double biscuit box in the Adams Style, Neoclassical or Classic style which emerged after the Rococo Period. The box features a slight ovoid and u form with a unique double opening on the interior. Each of the compartments open by means of a simple ball attached to the covers. Copper is exposed at each of the curves and on the high relief areas. The box is unbranded as is the majority of all Old Sheffield Plate and Old English Plate. Condition: The box is sturdy, hinge intact with no repairs or monograms. There is ware and copper exposed on the exterior high points and ridges and light surface scratches consistent with age. Size: It measures 6.25 inches across the base and stands 6 inches tall. Each of the compartments measure 3.25 inches by 3 7/8 inches.
