1890s Matched Pair of. English Victorian Style – Equestrian. Lovely condition, from a non-smoking environment. The lithos are in beautiful antique condition, with just a hint of “waviness” as you see. They are original 19th-century hand-colored lithographs, probably English, though unsigned and undated. The framing job is newer, c. 1960s-’70s, and the lithos have obviously not been removed from their frames since then — as the original backing paper is still in place (a bit fragile). The frames are painted green on the sides to match the mat board, and that green paint has some age chipping as shown. Likewise, the goldtone paint has some age chipping and was touched up / refreshed at some point. Overall, the frames have nice age/character to them, so they display splendidly. There is at least one spot of noticeable dust behind the glass, as shown in the last photo. The above is my good-faith attempt to disclose all noteworthy issues. Keep in mind that vintage/antique items always show their age. Don’t we all! ?
