This incredibly pretty early Victorian flower ring is made of solid 15 carat gold and is set with a pale moss-green emerald surrounded by a halo of six lustrous pearl petals. Each pearl is a natural wonder, characterful and with deep texture and lustre – they get better the closer you are. The stones are heightened by millegrain detail surrounding them – small inside, larger to the outer – but the best aspect of this piece is its shoulders, which are tiny blossoming flowers, raised and growing towards the head. These taper with tiny flourishes to ribbed sections and a plain gold band. It’s in lovely wearable antique condition, with slight high detail wear to the metal and a chip to the emerald. Dating to around 1840, it’s a size 7.5 resizable, weighs 1.5 grams and measures 9 mm across the head. What’s more, I offer layaway deals so there’s no need to let any of my listings slip through your fingers – just ask!
