Gorham Coin Silver Pierced Serving Spoon. “Old English” (AKA Seal or Signet) pattern introduced circa 1865. 9 – 3/8 in length, no marks, but recognizable as a Gorham piece. Fairly nice condition with a “G” monogram. Please note although antique in itself, and quite stunning. The monogram is over a well-done removal. I would say this alteration took place in the late 1880 s to early 1890 s. Lavish engraving and pierced work! This server has a fair amount of fine-line patina. And please note the scuffs near the bowl tip. Some shallow dents to back of bowl. Nicely obscured by the engraving for the most part. Offered at a very reasonable price. Weighs about 93 grams.
