This fabulous Victorian locket ring is set with a sepia miniature painting of a woman leaning longingly to one side. She’s probably awaiting the return of her beloved who may have died or gone on a long trip – in the days before easy communication across long distances, tours must have felt very long and lonely indeed. Dating to around 1850, it’s made of solid 15 carat gold and has a beautifully tapering band to its carefully crafted head. The head is rounded, dedicated with the initials’SG’ ornately engraved to the back, and my favourite aspect of this piece – which is the eyecatching yet subtle gold channel around the glazed locket compartment, that catches the light beautifully whatever the angle. The head measures 20 x 17 mm and it’s a ring size 9.5 resizeable. It’s in lovely antique condition with an old resizing to the back of the band and a small amount of dirt under the glass. It weighs 4.5 grams. What’s more, I offer layaway deals so there’s no need to let any of my listings slip through your fingers – just ask! For security all items are stored in a bank’s safe deposit box and sent fully insured for peace of mind. This item is in the category “Jewelry & Watches\Vintage & Antique Jewelry\Rings”.
