An astoundingly unusual Victorian period find! This stunning quality crossover band ring is made of solid 18 carat gold and set with one row each of nine stunning glistening rose-cut diamonds and lustrous pearls. Unusually with a continuous band width, it’s edged by a woven gold wire bezel that adds an intriguing touch of detail from all angles, and the diamonds’ section of band has been blackened to enhance their appearance, and this gives a wonderful contrast between the dark and light gold lengths. It comes across as a simple gold wrap around the finger, easily bridging the gap between art and utility. It dates to around 1890 and is a size 7, difficult to resize. It measures 8 mm across the whole head, 4 mm across the band and is in fair to good condition, with wear to the pearls’ nacre and one or two replacements, wear to gold high points and an old resizing visible to the back of the band. It weighs 4.8 grams. What’s more, I offer layaway deals so there’s no need to let any of my listings slip through your fingers – just ask!
